Epilepsy

My daughter is autistic & she has epilepsy.  I was never really informed about what epilepsy was until I found out my daughter was epileptic.
"Epilepsy is a disorder that results from the surges in electrical signals inside the brain, causing recurring seizures. Seizure symptoms vary. Some people with epilepsy simply stare blankly for a few seconds during a seizure, while others have full-fledged convulsions" (TheMayoClinic).  Our family has been having a tough time lately because her seizures have been increasing over the past few months and no one can tell us why. ???  It is so awful watching my precious child have to go through this.  If I could take her place I would.  I don't know anyone with epilepsy and would love to talk to someone who has gone through this and can share with me their experiences with epilepsy (and autism...but that's an entirely different post!)
Annabelle had her first seizure when she was 6months old.  It was a generalized seizure and VERY scary.  She has her second generalized seizure about 4 weeks later.  After that, thankfully she did not have another seizure for another year and a half.  She was taking Phenobarbital at the time.  After the Phenobarb, she was taking Keppra for her seizures.  When Annabellie turned 3, she started having smaller seizures, complex partial I believe they are called.  Her lips turn BLUE and she appears terrified, she smacks her lips and can't stand straight.  She has these seizures on a regular basis now, at least 3x a week.  She is currently taking Trileptal. Will these ever stop???  Ugh.  This past December she had two generalized seizures, and just today she had four complex partial seizures.   Does this ever get eaiser?
I hope one day my daughter can live a seizure-free life...one day.
Have a wonderful night
Heather
